These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the ButterflAI personal relationship assistant service ("Service") operated by ButterflAI ("we," "us," or "our"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms.
Program name: ButterflAI
Message types: Onboarding, relationship nudges, event coordination, venue suggestions, and account notifications.
Message frequency: Varies based on your settings and activity (avg. 2–10 messages/week).
Rates: Message and data rates may apply. Contact your carrier for details.
Opt-in: Text START to our number or sign up via an invite link at butterflai.social. You will receive a confirmation message. Reply YES to activate.
Opt-out: Reply STOP at any time. You will receive one final confirmation and no further messages. To resubscribe, text START.
Help: Reply HELP for assistance, or email support@butterflai.social.
Supported carriers: All major US carriers. Carrier is not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Consent is not a condition of purchase. You are not required to consent to SMS messaging as a condition of purchasing any goods or services.
ButterflAI is a personal relationship assistant delivered over SMS. It helps you stay in touch with the people you care about by tracking relationship cadence, sending nudge reminders, coordinating plans, suggesting venues, and handling the logistical back-and-forth of scheduling get-togethers.
The Service is designed to handle logistics on your behalf. Any message that expresses sentiment and is sent in your voice requires your review and approval before it is sent. Logistical coordination messages (scheduling, venue suggestions, confirmations) may be handled automatically within rules you configure.
You must be at least 13 years of age and a resident of the United States to use the Service. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements.
Your account is identified by your mobile phone number. You are responsible for keeping your account information accurate and for all activity that occurs through your account. Notify us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised.
You agree not to use the Service to:
You are responsible for ensuring that any contact you add to ButterflAI has a reasonable expectation of being contacted by you. ButterflAI will self-identify as an AI agent on every first outreach and offer an immediate opt-out, but you bear responsibility for the appropriateness of initiating contact.
When ButterflAI messages a contact on your behalf, that contact has the right to:
When a contact corrects a fact about themselves that you had provided, the contact's version takes precedence and you are notified. You agree to respect these rights and not attempt to circumvent them.
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
The Service integrates with third-party providers including Twilio (SMS delivery), Anthropic (AI), and Google (Calendar). Your use of those integrations is subject to their respective terms of service.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY PARTICULAR MESSAGE WILL BE DELIVERED.
ButterflAI is a scheduling and coordination assistant. It does not provide professional advice of any kind. Relationship and personal decisions are yours alone.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BUTTERFLAI SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU SHALL NOT EXCEED $100 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
You may terminate your account at any time by replying STOP to opt out of SMS or by emailing support@butterflai.social. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify active users of material changes via SMS. Continued use of the Service after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
